Professional conduct

Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct

Version 1.0 · October 2026

Managing an image means shaping how people see a subject and how they will act toward it. That power carries a duty. This code applies to every candidate and certificate holder of the Imagetude Institute, and to the Institute itself.

1. Truthfulness

  • We build images on what is true about the subject. We do not invent qualities, results, endorsements or credentials.
  • We keep the external message consistent with the real experience, because an image that contradicts experience harms both the public and the owner.

2. Respect for the image holder

  • We do not exploit fear, ignorance or vulnerability to create an attitude that harms the person who holds it.
  • We do not spread rumours, and we do not run anti-image campaigns based on false or misleading information.

3. Responsibility in a crisis

  • In a crisis we put the safety and rights of people before the protection of an image.
  • We advise honesty and transparency, and we do not help hide facts that people have a right to know.

4. Competence and honesty about ourselves

  • We accept work only within our competence and keep our knowledge current.
  • We state our certificate level, its number and its date accurately, and we do not use a certificate that has expired or been withdrawn.

5. Confidentiality and conflicts of interest

  • We protect confidential information of clients and employers.
  • We disclose any conflict of interest, including work for competing subjects.

6. Exam integrity

  • We do not copy, share or sell exam content, and we do not sit an exam for another person.

7. Respect for intellectual property

  • We credit the source when we use RIMBOK or any other work, and we do not copy or redistribute Institute publications without permission.

8. The Institute's own duties

  • The Institute applies this code to itself: it states only true facts about its standing, keeps exams fair and confidential, and treats every candidate equally regardless of nationality, gender, religion or background.

Reporting a concern

Concerns about the conduct of a candidate or certificate holder can be sent to the Institute through the contact page. Each concern is reviewed confidentially. Where a breach is confirmed, the Institute may issue a warning, cancel an exam result or withdraw a certificate.
